Warehouse Assistant

The Role

Your role will be to assist the Warehouse Manager to run the Charity’s Warehouse function effectively. There are many aspects to the warehouse function of the Charity, which you will be involved in. Running the warehouse is a team effort, so you will need to work efficiently & effectively as part of a team. The key responsibilities you may engage with are as follows:

Key Responsibilities

Store Items from Collections
 Unload vans safety and carry items to storage area
 Update database

Dispatch of Service User Orders
 Liaise with shop staff to ensure the needs of the service user are met
 Collect and pack items from warehouse or shop and load onto vans
 Be aware that heavy lifting is a necessary part of this placement and Manual Handling techniques will required

Product Care
 Assist in the repair of goods
 Build flat-packed items or items that have arrived to the warehouse as parts
 Assist in the upcycling of items
 PAT Test items

Transportation

Collection of Items
 Liaise with customers regarding collections, being respectful and courteous at all times
 Load vans safety

Delivery of Items to Service User
 Liaise with shop staff to ensure the needs of the service user are met
 Collect and pack items from warehouse or shop and load onto vans
 Be aware that heavy lifting is a necessary part of this placement and Manual Handling techniques will required

Van Care
 To do van checks at the end of each week

General
 Good housekeeping (keeping environment clean & tidy)
 To maintain health & safety procedures at all times
 Report any health and safety concern to the Warehouse Manager or Operational Director
 Report any fire safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager or the Operational Director
 Report all security concerns to the Warehouse Manager
 To perform any reasonable request from manager/team leader
